Maxcom MM135 LIGHT
Pros: Very simple, great value, very durable, easy to identify as a non-smartphone.
Cons: Very small screen, no games, modest battery, and can be fiddly. Availability has been very intermittent.

Maxcom is a reliable, budget-friendly brand. This is a very compact handset, built around calls, texts and basic utilities. What makes it stand out is what it leaves out: no 4G, no Wi-fi, no Bluetooth, no touchscreen, no games and no internet/email function. It does include a torch, alarm and FM radio,
The small screen and classic keypad make it instantly recognisable as a non-smartphone, which helps schools enforce permitted brick phone policies. Battery life should be sufficient, but considerably reduced compared to Nokia 105 model.
The main caution is longevity. Because it is 2G-only, it is a pragmatic low-cost option rather than the most future-proof handset – 2G is being phased out in the UK from 2029 onwards. Stock levels can also be intermittent.
